Tre Confini

prodotti details

The name is a statement of our desire to break down the barriers that divide the three production areas of Alto Piemonte, the provinces of Novara, Vercelli and Biella. Tre Confini, literally ‘three borders’ is an atypical Nebbiolo in that it is not made for ageing but is a lighter wine made for everyday consumption. However, it is made with a search for quality from the vineyard and in the winery using innovation to produce a clean, crisp wine without compromising the unique characteristics of the wines of the area. In fact, over the years, Tre Confini has been highly acclaimed by critics.

Origin and method of vinification

Grape: 100% Nebbiolo
Vine training system: guyot
Area of production: portion of vineyard of about 13 acres of our own estate in the area called Puncione, located in the territory of Ghemme
Average yield per acre: approximately 2,800 kg
Harvest: hand-picked during the first fortnight of October and transported to the winery in small crates
Vinification: soft pressing of the grapes to avoid bruising, fermentation in temperature-controlled steel tanks, followed by a malolactic fermentation
Ageing: at least 6 months in medium-size French oak barrels of Allier to soften the tannins and steel to deliver a fresh, crisp young wine
Finishing: at least 2 months in bottle
Bottle: slender Bordeaux-style bottle
